Sundial Cottage is a semi-detached cosy comfortable well equipped Victorian built cottage is named after the sundial on the walled entrance to the garden. The sundial is positioned there as this cottage has a south facing sun trap garden where even in the winter on bright days you can sit outside and enjoy coffee or lunch.

Cottage details
On walking into the cottage through the porch you will go into the convenient well-equipped kitchen. The living room with its comfortable sofas, flat screen tv, DVD player and log burner with wood is a spacious room. The large bathroom for Sundial Cottage is downstairs and has a bath, separate walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin. The cottage has its own small well-kept garden, which is fully fenced and has patio furniture and a barbecue.
Kitchen
We try and make sure the kitchen is well equipped with lots of extra very useful utensils but the main essentials, the microwave, dishwasher, washing machine tumble drier food processor, electric cooker and fridge freezer are all there. The dining table is also in the kitchen in Sundial Cottage.
Bedrooms
The three bedrooms and a toilet and washbasin are upstairs. Sheets, duvets with covers and pillows with cases are provided, as are extra duvets and pillows should you need them. We do provide an alarm clock in case you have to be up and about at a certain time but for those of you who have time to enjoy the peace and quiet, it is very easy to oversleep here at Gorwell before you wake up to the beautiful countryside.
A cot, highchair and a stair gate are also provided in the cottage but we do ask guests to provide their own cot bedding.
Heating
The cottage is centrally heated and has a log burner in the inglenook in the living room. Wood is provided for this and along with the electricity and heating, this is included in the rental rate.

Outside the cottage
The cottage has its own well kept south facing garden with patio furniture and is fully fenced. There is also parking for up to 2 cars on the driveway in the cottage. There are two play areas on the farm and a hard surface tennis court for guests use. The fenced outdoor play area has swings a slide, playhouse and slide for younger children.
The indoor play area has a games room with table football and a pool table and then the covered area has ride on toys for small children, table tennis and a small skittle alley for anyone to try their luck at this west country game.
We also have a hard surface tennis court which is available for all our guests to use. There are some racquets and balls provided but if you are of wimbledon standard …or even part way to that, and have your own racquet, please bring them along.
We are as keen as many of you are about our environment so please help us to care for it as you would at home and recycle as much as possible.We have compost bins for uncooked vegetables and collection boxes for glass, paper, tins etc.
Stocking up on local produce!
Our small ‘shop’ on the farm is where you can buy local produce when it is available. Should you be having such a lovely time that you have forgotten about your evening meal we have a small choice of frozen meals are available Our frozen meals are supplied from Manna Kitchen who are locally based in Dorchester. If you wish to order from a larger range then please place your order a day in advance if possible.
In our deep freeze we have a range of fabulous meats available sourced either from Gorwell Farm where we rear lamb or from Sam’s pigs. Our meats include sausages, burgers and pork steaks for quick meals and barbeques or venison and other game from Dorset Game Larder We also stock a range of other locally produced items depending on the time of year.
