Bride Cottage is a semi-detached cosy comfortable well equipped cottage. It is named Bride Cottage because of the local river which has a tributary source found in our wooded valley before it flows out to the sea in West Dorset.
Couples enjoy staying in this aptly named Bride Cottage as a get away from it all honeymoon in beautiful rural Dorset.
Bride Cottage sleeps 2-4+ cot with 1 double room with an en-suite bathroom and 1 twin bedded room with a shower room.

Cottage details
On entering the main door of the entrance hall the utility room is in front of you, containing the washing machine and tumble drier. The living room has comfortable sofas, flat screen TV, DVD player and log burner with wood provided. Leading from the living room is the dining area and well-equipped kitchen. Bride Cottage has its own small well-kept garden, which is fully fenced and has patio furniture and a barbecue.
Kitchen
We try and make sure the kitchen is well equipped with lots of extra utensils. You will find all the main essentials, including a microwave, dishwasher, electric cooker and fridge freezer.
Bedrooms
Bride Cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. Sheets, duvets with covers and pillows with cases are provided, as are extra duvets and pillows should you need them. We provide an alarm clock in case you have to be up and about at a certain time. For those of you who have time to enjoy the peace and quiet it is very easy to oversleep here at Gorwell Farm – before you wake up to the beautiful countryside!
A cot, highchair and a stair gate are also provided in the cottage but we do ask guests to provide their own cot bedding.
Heating
Bride Cottage is centrally heated and has a log burner in the inglenook in the living room. Wood is provided for the log burner and along with the electricity and heating this is included in the rental rate.

Free WiFi access is provided.
Outside the cottage
The cottage has its own small well kept garden with patio furniture is fully fenced. Parking is available on the entrance hall side of the cottage for up to 2 cars. We have two play areas on the farm and a hard surface tennis court for guests use. A fenced outdoor play area has swings a slide, playhouse and slide for younger children.
Our indoor play area has a games room with table football and a pool table. A covered area has ride on toys for small children, table tennis and a small skittle alley for anyone to try their luck at this west country game.
We are as keen as many of you are about our environment so please help us to care for it as you would at home and recycle as much as possible. We have compost bins for uncooked vegetables and collection boxes for glass, paper, tins etc.
Stocking up on local produce!
Our small ‘shop’ on the farm is where you can buy local produce when it is available. Should you be having such a lovely time that you have forgotten about your evening meal we have a small choice of frozen meals are available Our frozen meals are supplied from Manna Kitchen who are locally based in Dorchester. If you wish to order from a larger range then please place your order a day in advance if possible.
In our deep freeze we have a range of fabulous meats available sourced either from Gorwell Farm where we rear lamb or from Sam’s pigs. Our meats include sausages, burgers and pork steaks for quick meals and barbeques or venison and other game from Dorset Game Larder We also stock a range of other locally produced items depending on the time of year.
